Installation Instructions
CHAIN BRAKE HANDLE PULL
USE: To drop, pull up or lock up the chain brake on sleds.
MATERIALS:
- ¼ inch rope, 4 feet long
- 4” steel welded ring or oval 3” ring
- ¼ inch or so bunge cord, 3 feet long
PROCEDURE:
- Tie the bungee cord onto the 4” steel ring.
- Tie the rope onto the center link of the chain brake using a crab pot knot, bowline, or hangman knot.
- With the ring over the handle, resting against the front rope welded link, measure and tie the bungee cord and rope together using two-bowline or sheep bend or fisherman/s knot. Have the rope run over the top of the back bars.
- Check to be sure the chain extends under the sled all the way with the ring in the back or released position.
- A tail Rope (18" section of rope) can be left hanging down from the center link of the chain to help pull the chain under the sled in steep moguls.
